Hello to all my fellow bloggers. My name is Sonya Smith I am originally from Woodbridge, New Jersey (central NJ) now residing in Reading. I am 22yrs. old and I recently graduated from Albright College, with a B.A. in Accounting. This is my first semester at Kutztown University. I am also a Graduate Assistant at the SBDC (Small business development Center), being back there is great. I did an internship 2 yrs. ago there and learned a lot about business, accounting, and myself. Working with everyone again has been a great experience for me so far! At first when I meet people I am quiet until I am comfortable in my element. But once you know the REAL me, I'm very sociable and bubbly. At this present time I also have another job as a waitress at Hooters of Wyomissing. I love meeting people hearing their stories and learning about their lives and experiences they have been through. Most people when they meet me they don't believe that I went to school to become a CPA, they said "my personality doesn't match my career". My first career choice was actually to become a child psychologist or a lawyer that dealt with child laws and children's rights. But I thought I am too much of an emotional person and will become too attached to the cases.
In high school I was a jack of all trades so was involved in every sport I could possibly be in. In college I danced, cheered and "played lacrosse for a semester" at Albright. I love dance because it is an art form where people can express many things through movement. My side dream is to run a cheer camp or dance studio for young children, I love children and the combination of both would be a great thing.
I am looking forward to learning new things about the business world and how it is a never ending revolving door of change. As technology becomes more advanced managers need to know how to reach their consumers different ways. The consumers are the ones that keep the econ0my rolling.
